OpenRPF is an alternative to OpenIV.asi, which is now obsolete with GTA V's Enhanced version. It works in the same way, allowing modified files to be loaded from a mods folder, thus avoiding the need to modify the game's original files.
Features:
• OPEN & encrypted compatibility: OpenRPF supports both the game's native archives and those created with OpenIV (OPEN). No need to re-encrypt your modified files.
• rpf.cache bypass on Gen9: OpenRPF bypasses the rpf.cache for modified files placed in the mods folder, allowing them to load without additional intervention.
• Integrated ASI Loader: Just like OpenIV provided dinput8.dll, OpenRPF includes dsound.dll to enable ASI plugin loading in GTA V Enhanced (as well as loading OpenRPF.asi).
• Performance optimization: OpenIV.asi could cause slowdowns due to inefficient file loading management. OpenRPF fixes this issue for a smoother gaming experience.
Installation:
1. Extract the archive contents into the GTA V Enhanced directory (where GTA5_Enhanced.exe is located).
2. Create a mods folder.
3. Place your modified RPF archives inside this folder, just like with OpenIV.asi.
4. Launch the game and enjoy your mods on the Enhanced version of GTA V.
Warnings:
• The mod does not change file versions: Gen8 (GTA V Legacy) files on Gen9 (GTA V Enhanced) will cause a crash if used. Ensure you use GTA V Enhanced compatible files or convert them using Dexyfex's tool in CodeWalker.
• Some resources are not yet perfectly converted by CodeWalker: which may cause crashes or visual anomalies. If you encounter issues, feel free to report them on the CodeWalker Discord.

Made an account just to post to say thank you, this is indeed working, however a lot of old mods are not with it, but this is not an issue of your own, initially I experienced same as others and had crashes when putting in mods, then I started rewriting files using similar changes that the mods did and found they worked. ALSO I noticed if you just created mods and put update.rpf in there it won't work, you need to create mods with an update folder and then put update.rpf inside of the update folder, i.e. you must match the same folder layout as the game itself and it will work perfectly.
4 n e 1 have crash issues on startup, remove rpf.cache and try running game with a empty mods folder, do not put anything from the gta 5 directory in mods, test to see if game loads, download enhanced mods like the lamborghini aventador and put it directly into the mods folder
This is very exciting! I'm really glad to see there's been inspiration to continue to work of OpenIV. Excited to try this out when I jump back into the modding scene, you've got my follow for sure!!
@Transmet Hello brother. Thank you for share your work with us. I have a question about this mod and enhanced version. I am still using normal version of gta v but I decided to move on enhanced version. So with this mod can we install add on cars to enhanced version? And if yes i have another question.
Do car mods need to support and be compatible with enhanced version or we can install any of them?
@Ali62nmi Hello, yes you can use OpenRPF to install vehicle mods but they must be converted to be compatible with GTA V Enhanced. For more information you can refer to my previous posts, especially the one that lists common issues.
@Transmet please forgive me im just frustrated. I realized my mistake. I was reinstalling my mods folder like 100x rushing i wasnt doing mods>update> x64 and update.rpf. i feel so stupid. Again im sorry. I knew somthing wasnt right and it look off when going through codewalker.
Broken as of now... Does anyone know where the one who made this uploads updated ones?
i can't find it nowhere on discord releases
OK so this is what I did:
1. Installed ScriptHook
2. Installed OpenRPF
3. Installed simple trainer to confirm if .asi files work - trainer works fine
4. Converted some model replacement mods using CodeWalker and placed them correctly in /mods/ folder
...But modded models don't appear in game, they're all vanilla. I've confirmed that OpenIV.asi from OpenRPF loads, but it kind of omits the modded models. IDK why
BTW, when I replace game files directly through Codewalker RPF explorer, everything works correclty
Oh, and I also use rpfcache.disabled empty file
@Infi Can you explain a little bit more? Never used codewalker
Hi, @Transmet
Congratulations on this release, and thanks for your hard work! Is recreating OpenIV's .oiv installer feature on your cards since we have this alternative already?
Hi @Transmet,
Running GTA V Enhanced V814.9. Just copied x64e.rpf from game folder to mods folder, my game keeps crashing. Is it still compatible with latest enhanced build ?
OK so it turned out you can't just place mod files (such as .ydd, .yft., .ymt, etc.) directly in the mods folder, you need to copy the original .rpf file from the game folder into the mods folder and then edit it using CodeWalker RPF Explorer. OFC, it changes the .rpf file encryption to "open", but fortunately OpenRPF handles that. Now everything works, although some mods just crash my game even though they were correctly converted to the format the Enhanced Edition uses. Not an OpenRPF issue itself of course. Sorry, I'm kinda new to GTA 5 modding and it was my mistake. :)
@brianmoyano just use the CodeWalker RPF Explorer Tools/Asset Converter. It will convert asset-using mods from the Legacy format to Enhanced format, but that doesn't mean they'll work.
it does not work after the latest update, the game shows error
@Allrounder687 it works for me, even after the newest update, are you using ScriptHook .asi loader or OpenRPF .asi loader? What doesn't work exactly?
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm using last game version (1.0.814.9), downloaded the last version of Script Hook 5 and added args.txt, dinput8.dll, NativeTrainer.asi, ScriptHookV.dll and xinput1_4.dll next to GTA5_Enhanced.exe
Downloaded this mod and put dsound.dll and OpenRPF.asi next to the GTA exe too.
Extracted files from the enhanced version of Lively World Expansion and put the "mods" folder and the rpf.cache.disable in the same folder than GTA5_Enhanced.exe but it doesn't load the mod while the native trainer works.
@Infi if it works for you then maybe there is some other tool interfering with this but whenever i add openRPF.asi to the directory the game just says "GTA V exited Unexpectedly" but if i removed OpenRPF it works fine ..why?
@tdyfa i'm also have this problem. i don't know what is.
@Infi Yes, managed to install it just fine using codewalker.
But also, ended up using the mod loader from natural vision enhanced (onigiri) and it also works.
